Crossways Womens's Institute
(Member of Dorset County Federation & affiliated to National Federation of WIs)
What is the WI?
Originally formed in 1915, the National Federation has grown into being the largest women’s voluntary organisation in the country and celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2005. It is a non-sectarian and non-party political organisation reaching out to women in all sections of the community, offering wider opportunities than ever for women to become involved, at times which suit their lifestyles and in activities which specially interest them. So if you would be keen to meet new friends, to learn new skills or to become involved in sporting and leisure activities, why not join your local Women’s Institute?

Are you interested in joining us?
Crossways WI was formed in 1971 and we currently have 31 members. Reports on our meetings regularly appear in ‘The Bridge’ magazine.  Our Programme Secretary works hard to provide a wide range of speakers for our enjoyment (follow link on this page for details of 2015-16 programme).  Members have the opportunity to enter monthly competitions and enjoy outings during the summer months. We enter a team in the Dorset WI Skittles League, play scrabble, whist and take part in quizzes.  We also have a walking group who, when weather permitting, venture out on walks around the beautiful Dorset countryside.
