Crossways Community Awards 2014

Crossways Village Hall was the setting for the first Crossways Community Awards presentation held on the 24th April 2014. The Awards were to recognize the ‘unsung heroes’ and say thank you to those people and groups that have made an outstanding contribution to community life in Crossways.

More than 40 people attended the presentations where the Crossways Parish Council Chairman, Cllr Andrew Brewer, presented each winner with a framed certificate marking their achievement.

Citations were read out for each winner and as District Councillor Teresa Seall, Chair of the Judging Panel, said “The nominations were many and varied and were for outstanding contribution to the life of the Crossways Community by people who were providing a service or just quietly helping others. It is so important that these people are recognized and shown appreciation”.

Those receiving certificates were Margaret Bartholomew, Mary Brewer, Dave Cheffey, Nigel Hill, Bob and Marion Light, Ben Ling, Elaine and Peter Stenning, The Bridge Community Magazine Volunteers, The Crossways Library Volunteers and Stella Wilson.

The final certificate was kept a secret until the last minute and presented to Andrew Brewer by Cllr Seall.

Unfortunately not all the winners were able to attend the presentations and arrangements have been made for them to receive their Awards.
